Maria Ylvisaker is a visual artist in Brooklyn, New York. She works in drawing and printmaking to explore nostalgia and everyday life. Her artist books and large watercolor drawings examine how artifacts and ephemera, whether decades or months old, create a sense of place.

Her work has been published in Polyester Magazine and has been shown at David & Schweitzer Contemporary and A.I.R. Gallery, among other spaces in New York, California, and Montana. In 2022 she was an LMCC Governors Island artist in residence. In 2021 she was an artist in residence at Open AIR in Missoula, Montana and at Chalk Hill in Sonoma County, California.

She holds a B.A. in studio art and rhetoric & communications studies from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
